METABOLITES OF ABRUS PRECATORIUS TARGETING MULTIPLE ONCOGENIC AND ONCO-SUPPRESSIVE SIGNALING FOR CANCER PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION

Cancer remains as the subsequent cause of death in contemporary society trailing after heart disease. Abrus precatorius, a vine Fabaceae family, has proven to be immensely beneficial cancer management. Its seeds, leaves androots are rich source phytochemicals such terpenoids, alkaloids, lectin proteins, flavonoids, tannins and phenolic compounds. These metabolites possess plethora properties anti-cancer, anti-angiogenic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory etc. This review takes comprehensive critical look at evidence on Abrus-derived therapy. It reviews results preclinical (in-vitro in-vivo) investigations therapeutic potential A. precatorius targeting wide range malignancies including those gastrointestinal tract, breast, gynaecological related, urogenital The also explores existing limitations concerns this field, well post-analysis recommendation guide future research.
